Insurance and reinsurance: AGB is a young boutique law firm, whose insurance practice is best known for its strong knowledge and specialization in both insurance corporate/regulatory and claims/dispute resolution matters. While most firms usually focus mainly on either end, AGB is one of the very few Mexican law firms with full insurance law expertise.
Jointly, AGB’s partners add up more than 25 years providing legal services to the Mexican and international insurance sector. AGB also has unique international and cross border experience, as one of our partners worked in London as foreign associate in a Legal500 UK law firm and another partner worked in the US for both an insurance regulator and in the legal department of an international insurance company.

Marine and shipping: AGB provides legal advice and assistance to shipowners, charterers, P&I Clubs and hull underwriters in a broad range of casualties in Mexico and also provides advice to local and foreign insurers in cargo issues and disputes.
We advise clients in transactional matters, including ship finance, building contracts, securities, registration of titles, mortgages and other guarantees as well as in ship sales and charterparties.
AGB’s dispute resolution practice specializes in maritime matters including charter disputes, vessel arrests, disputes arising from MOAs and ship repair contracts, etc., in Mexican courts and arbitration.
Oil and gas: AGB provides legal advice and assistance in the establishment of new companies in Mexico in the oil and gas sector, and their participation in bids with state owned and private oil companies. It also deals with contracts for private and state-owned companies, licenses and permits required to perform upstream and midstream activities in Mexico, with a main focus for offshore exploration and production, transportation and storage of oil products.
AGB’s dispute resolution practice has represented clients in contentious matters against the Mexican state owned company Pemex, especially in arbitration cases.
Corporate: AGB provides legal advice on the incorporation of Mexican commercial companies, and the establishment of branches and subsidiaries of international companies and their operations in Mexico, including the acquisition and/or leasing of their facilities, the decision-making process, corporate secretary and its administrative aspects.
