Launched in January 2019 by Big Four accounting firm KPMG, KPMG Avocats, France has quickly become a powerhouse on the market. It has its main office in Paris in addition to a large regional network with about 20 implantations located in France’s main cities. Over the course of 2019, the firm hired a large workforce of more than 200 tax experts, many of them very experienced and joining from top firms, including a high number coming primarily from FIDAL, but also from Deloitte Legal, Taj, Ernst & Young Société d'Avocats and CMS among others. The firm advises many leading French and international companies as well as SMEs. While the practice focuses on delivering full-service tax expertise, its strong transactional structuring and due diligence real estate, M&A and private equity expertise should be highlighted – it recently advised on the structuring of several landmark transactions. Leading companies also rely on the firm for its strong international tax expertise and global platform. The transfer pricing expertis, customs tax, indirect tax and mobility services expertise are otherkey areas. Recently, the firm assisted several leading technology platforms in dealing with highly sensitive tax dawn raid and litigation. The tax practice is co-headed by Mustapha Oussedrat and Christophe Bergerot.
