Testimonials

‘Very friendly and normal practice, very accommodating and excellent listeners.’

‘Invest in the relationship and understanding our business and the challenges we face. Always make you feel they have time for you.’

‘What stands out vs. previous firms I have worked with are the following: They know and understand our business well – our culture, our practices and they give clear counsel and adapt their advice on that basis. This means that we have high confidence and trust that their counsel will not only keep us right from a best practice pov, but that it will work practically and culturally in our business. They are client-led, humble and very good at what they do. We are very pleased to have them as our employment advisors.’

‘Ed Cotton is so calm. He has seen it all before. This gives me reassurance that there will be a good solution to problems. He is highly adaptive as well – when you provide more context, he gets it quickly and adapts his advice accordingly, so it always feels pragmatic as well as protecting the business/doing right by an employee. He’s at the top of his game, and his understated confidence is what stands him apart from other partners at other firms.’

‘The people within the TLT employment are brilliant, they understand the culture of our company and nature of our industry to ensure they can tailor their guidance. They always offer commercial advice and the pricing structure is reasonable.’

‘Ed Cotton is an outstanding employment lawyer, we can call him any time of the day and he will always be switched on to offer his services. Ed has an excellent understanding of the complexities of our business and we feel we can always rely on him, whatever the scenario.’

‘I always know that there is someone on hand to answer any query I may have. If my main contact is away, someone else simply picks it up.’

‘Sincere interest in my business as a client, Howard Beach especially’

‘In terms of what differentiates TLT from other law firms I have dealt with is a combination of expertise and client management. Whenever I have dealt with TLT it has felt like I have been informed about an issue, been given some advice and some options and then worked a way forward. Other Law firms I have dealt with have wanted to instruct the client rather than take instruction. TLT also are proactive in their communication meaning issues are always brought to a conclusion.’

‘I have mainly dealt with Howard Beach who I have found to be excellent. His communication skills and general property knowledge are always great and in terms of client relationships he is always focused on achieving the right outcome for us as a client. His great skill is in ‘educating’ us as a client without ever feeling we are being talked down to and I am never worried about asking a ‘stupid question.’’

‘The team at TLT are always on hand to offer advice and are quick to respond.’

‘Donna Strong and her team are excellent and always give a timeous service.’

TLT believes when our employees can truly be themselves they are at their best, so we work to create an environment where every individual is treated with dignity and respect. We promote this by taking every opportunity to celebrate differences, as well as empowering our people to challenge behaviour at odds with this.

We value diversity and actively seek to promote it at all levels of the organisation through ensuring everyone has the same opportunity to succeed irrespective of any differing or defining characteristic.

We work continually to ensure we are meeting the needs of our employees and have committed substantial resources to ensure we are driving the agenda forward across multiple diversity strands, including sex and gender identity, sexual orientation, ethnicity, social mobility, disability and religion. Our efforts are reflected in the ongoing success of our employee networks, which we continue to grow and build. These networks are a valuable resource for the firm in helping ensure that our employees have a voice, but also connecting people and instilling the sense of belonging that we wish for every employee to feel.

In addition to this, we are passionate about growing diversity into the firm, which has been demonstrated by our commitment to various attraction initiatives including the Social Mobility Business Project (SMBP) – a multi-award winning social mobility scheme – and our longstanding partnership with Aspiring Solicitors, which has continued to strengthen over the years.

Whilst we are always proud of what we have achieved, we continue to strive to be better for the benefit of our employees, the firm and the wider legal sector.
