Press and publishing Tier 1
Raue is one of the leading addresses for press law and freedom of speech issues in Berlin and nationwide. The practice maintains a strong reputation with media companies and content producers which has resulted from its longstanding representation of publishing companies (primarily Axel Springer). The service offering also includes copyright and right of privacy advice. Jan Hegemann heads the practice.
Energy Tier 2With Christian von Hammerstein heading the practice, Raue puts particular emphasis on regulatory work, advising on strategic matters pertaining to new business models and infrastructure projects as well as on day-to-day business issues. The team's second major strength lies in dispute resolution, as evidenced by its regular appearance in market-shaping mandates, such as in the dispute over the award of electricity concession in the state of Berlin where the team acted for Vattenfall. Handling transactions, most notably in the venture capital sector, and antitrust mandates, which is an area of growth for the team, constitute other key elements. Anna von Bremen and Hans Heller made counsel in January 2020.
' We feel optimally looked after by the Raue Energie team. Regardless of the question – there are always contacts at Raue who know our topics profoundly and can move our projects forward immediately. Particularly clear and understandable work products. The team is always available and absolutely reliable, has a comprehensive overview of the market and is very well networked. Perhaps most importantly: We always have the feeling that the team really makes our topics their own and wants to bring them forward – and not just keep saying what's not possible. You can feel a real spirit of innovation. Clearly the first choice for us. '
'In our opinion, the Raue Energie team has an exceptional technical understanding in the market and the ability to be immediately' up to speed 'even with very innovative and unusual topics and to develop the topics with us. There are always quick, clear answers – we really appreciate that. Working with Raue is fun, which is unusual in legal advice. '

'' Short reaction times, quick analysis of the facts and recommendations are easy to use in day-to-day business and are also understandable for management decisions. '
' Bernd Beckmann is highly competent legally, but also has an extraordinary understanding of the market and business models – economically and technically. For us he is therefore a real sparring partner in the development of new business models, not just an advocate for implementation. He is able to prepare even complex regulatory questions in a clear and understandable manner for non-lawyers. A particularly good communicator, also towards the other side . '
' Bernd Beckmann is the perfect lawyer for our needs: Very pleasant communication style, easy to reach, with an unusual ability (and recognizable pleasure in it) to quickly understand technical and economic questions. He thinks from the point of view of the matter, not from the legal norms. His assessments have always proven to be correct and extensive. Even when talking to third parties (negotiating partners, other lawyers, etc.) you can tell that he is very well respected from a professional point of view. You feel you are in the best of hands. '
' Christian von Hammerstein: Very familiar with energy law and current developments. Administrative practice BNetzA, BAFA etc. is well known. '
' Christian von Hammerstein and Peter Roegele always recognized in a very short time what our company needed and served it to our complete satisfaction. '
