Position

Poul Hvilsted manages legal, strategic and commercial advice to Danish and international public and private sector organisations on regulatory and business issues.
In the context of general business and contract law practise Poul has had a particular focus on the body of regulatory law and concession enterprise, including life/pension insurance law and insurance arrangements for the labour market. Further, he advises on and negotiates commercial contracts, including transactional agreements. Poul possesses a particular expertise in the negotiation of procurement contracts concerning military and security material and in the Danish and international regulation of military equipment and dual-purpose products. The broad commercial and business experience forms the basis for Poul advising on general or specific compliance programs. Poul municipalities and public enterprises on matters relating to public law and administrative law and especially environmental law and planning legislation.
In his career, Poul started out as a litigation lawyer. He is an experienced advocate and has conducted several cases before the Danish courts, including a substantial number of high-profile and leading cases. He has also been involved in a number of international arbitration and legal proceedings in for instance the USA, Great Britain and Thailand. Poul is a skilled arbitrator and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators which is an international centre of excellence for the practice and profession of alternative dispute resolution (ADR). He accepts appointments in both national and international arbitral matters as both sole arbitrator or member of the panel.
