The banking and finance team at Hammarskiöld is led by Mattias Anjou and includes the very experienced Per Gustaf Ekbom and Rasmus Fahlén. The group is particularly strong in bank and direct lending, regulatory matters, leasing work, asset and project finance mandates, restructurings and capital markets work, acting for financial institutions, debt funds, corporates, issuers and real estate companies. Anjou is a key name for regulatory matters and the team is experienced in both domestic and cross-border deals, often working in tandem with large international law firms.

Hammarskiöld’s capital markets team is jointly led by Carl-Johan Pousette, Rasmus Fahlén and Sandra Broneus, who recently joined from TM & Partners. The department advises clients on matters pertaining to both primary and secondary markets, market regulation, and stock exchange issuances, and Pousette brings a wealth of experience in IPOs, public takeovers, exchange offers and capital raisings to the team.

Hammarskiöld’s ‘creative and easy to work with’ team has expanded its M&A and regulatory work in the energy sector, and Jakob Falkman has been particularly active, with a focus on transactional work relating to renewable projects. The firm can handle complex cross-border matters including litigation and IPO assignments, most recently advised a consortium of German banks undertaking a substantial wind farm project. Erik Fahlgren focuses on complex M&A transactions, while Johan Löfquist has been active in the electricity and gas sectors. The recent arrival of financing specialist Rasmus Fahlén from Advokatfirman Westermark Anjou AB has further bolstered the team.

Hammarskiöld is well regarded in the market for its knowledge of antitrust issues, cartel investigations, state aid matters, merger control work and litigation. Claes Langenius leads the team with over 25 years’ experience acting for Swedish and international companies before the European Commission and the Swedish Competition Authority. Malin Albert is a key name for EU law and public procurement work and has particular experience of the life sciences sector, and Sofia Falkner, who was recently promoted to associate partner, is a key name for cartel investigations and dominance issues.

Hammarskiöld acts for foreign and domestic clients on cross-border M&A, often assisting large international law firms as local counsel on deals. The team is led by Peder Hammarskiöld, Jakob Falkman, Erik Fahlgren and Erik Löfwall, with Hammarskiöld bringing significant experience to the team in public and private takeovers, M&A, and capital markets matters. Sandra Broneus joined from TM & Partners and regularly handles public M&A.

The dispute resolution team at Hammarskiöld is led by Sandra Kaznova and Andreas Johard and handles high-value and cross-border disputes, often acting as local counsel for large international law firms. Its practitioners are regularly asked to sit as arbitrators in large commercial disputes and Kaznova is experienced in the life sciences and insurance industries and professional liability cases, while Johard has handled a number of construction disputes and represented clients in the Supreme Court.

Often undertaking cross-border work, the practice is strong in TUPE issues, whistleblowing claims, company establishments and reorganisations. Erik Löfwall heads up the practice and has particular experience of transactional work, incentive schemes, trade union negotiations and pensions.
