Bjørnar Alterskjær
Bjørnar Alterskjær
Expertise in public procurement and state aid matters. EU law, EEA law, State aid law, Competition law, Public procurement law, free movement of goods, services, labour and capital, business law. Bjørnar has been Deputy Director of the legal department in the EFTA Surveillance Authority and was also for an extended period Acting Director of the department. He has outstanding experience in litigation before the EFTA and the EU Courts, having represented the EFTA Surveillance Authority in over 20 cases in almost all fields of law covered by the EEA Agreement and the EU treaties. Several of the cases concerned questions within the field of state aid and public procurement. He has also worked extensively with questions pertaining to the free movement of goods, services, labour and capital, in addition to the rules on establishment, competition law, labour law and financial services. Further he has acted as Hearing Officer for competition cases in the EFTA Surveillance Authority. Alterskjær has been Manging Partner in Kluge since 2018.

Christina Elisabeth Lavold
Christina Lavold's practice focuses on corporate/M&A. She holds a master of laws from the University of Oslo, where she specialized in corporate law and tax law. Lavold works mainly with private M&A and general legal advice within corporate law and contract law. Her work includes assisting both financial and industrial clients throughout all stages of the transaction process, from initial negotiations, to signing and closing. Lavold has experience with project management on both buy- and sell-side in complex M&A transactions, including structured sales processes. Frederik Nordby
Frederik Nordby
Frederik Nordby works primarily with public procurement law, state aid law and other EU/EEA law. Within public procurement, Nordby assists both public entities and private operators in procurement processes. He has particular experience with procurement of complex ICT systems, and he therefore has good knowledge of ICT contracts as well. He also has broad experience from litigation procedures, both before the courts as well as before the Norwegian Complaints Board for Public Procurement. Nordby also has broad experience within state aid law, where he primarily advises public entities on state aid law, and assists in notification procedures before the EFTA Surveillance Authority (ESA). Nordby har previously worked in ESA's competition and state aid directorate, and as a research assistant at the Centre for European Law at the University of Oslo.
Frode Olsen

Specialises in mergers and acquisitions, corporate law as well as domestic and international tax. In addition to advising on and negotiating agreements and other transaction related documentation, he has a long experience with transaction tax advice, especially where a human capital element is prevalent. He especially deals with TMT and human capital intensive businesses such as transactions involving consulting firms. In addition to his qualification as a lawyer, Olsen also possesses an MBA from Bocconi.
Henrik Høines
Henrik Høines
Works with CMS Kluge's IP, technology and EEA department, where he works in particular with Intellectual Property Rights and contract law. Provides assistance related to patent, trademark, design and copyright disputes and matters under the Marketing Act and the Act relating to Trade Secrets. The work within patent rights concerns in particular negotiations and dispute resolution in cases of patent infringement and validity of patents. Furthermore, he assists in trademark disputes and has represented several clients in cases before the Norwegian Industrial Property Office and the Board of Appeal for Industrial Property Rights. Høines also assists in cases concerning copyright infringement, product licensing and competition clauses, and regularly represents clients in the courts. Also assists clients with drafting and negotiations of contracts related to technology development, NDA’s and R&D projects, including cooperation and partner agreements related to development and commercialization of technology. He also has broad experience with various contracts related to development and licensing of technology and software. Høines frequently assists clients in connection with technology transactions.

Also assists his clients in cases regarding enforcement, securing of evidence, temporary injunction and arrest. Mainly focuses on insurance, reinsurance, action for damages and dispute resolution. He also has extensive domestic, arbitration and international dispute resolution experience with commercial contracts in a number of industry sectors. Extensive experience with respect to complex claims and disputes under insurance policies and reinsurance contracts. Frequently assists in handling cyber incidents ("breach response") and coverage claims under cyber insurance policies and also has particular experience in relation to director and officers' claims (D&O), financial lines and W&I insurance matters. Has worked in the London market and assists international insurers and claims handling companies with the development of policy wordings in the Norwegian market.

Matias Apelseth

Matias works with commercial property, building projects, and contract matters – primarily for private developers. For developers, Matias particularly deals with the phases from implementation of zoning plans, including development agreements, to setting up and executing building projects/constructions and the sales process, which includes, among other things, final account and defect cases, as well as assistance in building matters. Matias regularly appears in court, and he has considerable experience with dispute resolution for actors in the property industry.

After working 7 years, mainly with contract work, property transactions and public procurement, he has worked 4 years with upstream supplier contracts as legal counsel in Statoil. He has thorough knowledge of contracts within the oil industry for the FC/EPC/EPCI/EPMA, removal and dismantlement, supply-, preparedness- and installation vessels, helicopter contracts and other service and delivery contracts. Samuel has international experience from projects in Africa and Brazil. He also has experience from various transactions related to property, projects and companies.

Part of the firm’s Corporate/M&A department in Oslo.  Primarily works with transactions/M&A as well as general corporate law and capital markets law. Thea assists both financial and industrial clients in all stages of the transaction process, from initial negotiations to signing and completion. She has worked with a wide range of clients and has assisted national and international companies on both the buy- and sell-side in complex M&A transactions.  Assistance in connection with corporate transactions can relate to everything from the choice of organisational and transaction form, assistance with due diligence reviews, to advice related to the conclusion of agreements and implementation of settlements. Assists both Norwegian and international companies and organisers in connection with processes on the Oslo Stock Exchange. Thea has assisted several companies and investment banks in equity capital market transactions, including private placements and IPOs in various business sectors.

Partner in CMS Kluge’s Real Estate team. She has background from CMS Kluge's Corporate team. Tyvold works with transactions/M&A and commercial real estate. She provides expertise on drafting and negotiating contracts. Extensive experience on court proceedings after more than two years as a deputy judge in Norway’s second largest district court. Assists clients on issues regarding commercial real estate, including real estate transactions and lease contracts for existing or new building projects. Her work often consists of drafting contracts and assisting clients with negotiations. Tyvold is experienced with drafting cooperation agreements and shareholders’ agreements in real estate projects. Part of CMS Kluge’s commercial real estate team. Advises clients on company law issues. Assists with most aspects of M&A transactions and restructuring, for example giving strategic advice, assisting with negotiations in the M&A process, leading due diligence reviews, and the drafting of SPAs and shareholders’ agreements. Focuses in particular on the intersection between company law and real estate. Expertise on competition law. She has a degree from King’s College London, specializing inter alia on European competition law. She assists clients with all types of competition law issues, including regarding merger control and cooperation issues, and setting up compliance programs.
