Fladgate is an 85 partner law firm known for its ability to work on fast moving, complex challenges requiring enterprising and commercial solutions.

We’re a firm that has always built deep relationships with clients, creating true partnerships. Offering any number of experts while keeping things brilliantly one to one. Valuing intellectual rigour, agility and proactivity. We call this approach an ‘unlimited partnership’, because deep relationships generate exponentially better teamwork and results.

As an agile and enterprising team operating from one office we are able to offer a nimble and integrated service across: commercial; construction and engineering; corporate; dispute resolution, employment; funds, finance and regulatory; immigration; intellectual property and technology; private client; restructuring and insolvency; real estate; and tax.

As a result, we work with some of the leading and fastest growing businesses and ‘trend initiator’ brands along with HNWI’s or their advisors from around the world.  Businesses we work closely for include:

As a result, we work with some of the leading and fastest growing businesses and ‘trend initiator’ brands along with UHNWI’s or their advisors from around the world.

One of the things that characterises Fladgate is the nature of our clients and our ability to deliver quick thinking and enterprising solutions for them. A large proportion of clients we work for are either: founder/owners/senior directors in small to medium size fast growing businesses often seen as ‘trend initiators’ in their markets; or they are UHNWI’s or their advisors. They generally don’t have large in-house resources and rely on us heavily to guide them through fast moving and intricate challenges. They also expect commercial and enterprising thinking, Fladgate scores up to 20% higher in service factors related to this area than other firms that our clients use.* Another reason why our focus on personal service has paid off.

Our distinctive approach stems from providing a level of personal service that our clients tell us they do not get from the other firms they use*. Partners at Fladgate operate in small close-knit and collaborative teams. Fladgate has carefully structured these teams around a low partner to fee-earner ratio ensuring a uniquely personal service. They not only take the lead but also do a significant amount of the detailed work. This and our strongly personal and collaborative culture results in an ability to move efficiently and at speed. Fladgate combines being nimble and efficient with high quality, full service and international capabilities. Clients appreciate our personal scale and flat efficient structure but know we can also help across the full breadth of their needs and bring international connectivity. TESTIMONIAL: Fladgate have been our principal legal advisers on our European deals for many years. The team, which is led by Graham Spitz – with support principally from the hard-working and talented Yulia Leyko – has proven itself to be an effective and supportive partner on due diligence and complex negotiations over the course of numerous transactions. Graham is highly pragmatic and provides clear and helpful legal advice. Most recently, the team represented us, together with the other major private equity shareholders, in the successful sale of iZettle to PayPal; a cross-border and complex transaction with multiple parties and which was completed within a very tight timetable.

CLIENT: London 2017 World Athletics Championships
COMPANY/FIRM: Fladgate LLP
TESTIMONIAL: James Earl and his team played a vital role in our success by advising our Boards on a wide range of issues as well as providing practical support for contracts and procurement. Like any great endeavour, putting on the championships was not always easy, but James and the team worked tirelessly to help minimise difficulties and keep us on track. On one occasion this even involved them providing advice in the early hours of the morning, which was well beyond the call of duty but very very much appreciated by our Board.
