Raúl Boo

aúl Boo is a partner in the Employment Practice Area of Uría Menéndez. He has managed the employment team in Valencia since 2012. Raúl has a great deal of experience in advising on employment-related issues in national and international mergers and acquisitions, private equity and corporate restructuring transactions. He specialises in the employment aspects of real estate transactions, particularly the sale and purchase of hotels, residential facilities, office buildings and shopping centres. He also regularly advises on contract terminations in bankruptcy situations, collective relocations, collective redundancies and suspensions of employment. Raúl also represents clients in court and negotiates out-of-court settlements.

Jaime Calvo Retuerto

Jaime Calvo joined Uría Menéndez’s Barcelona office in 2008 and was appointed partner in 2023. In his professional practice Jaime focuses on public law, environmental law and sustainable development matters. He advises domestic and foreign companies from a variety of industries, including the iron and steel, chemical and petrochemical, pharmaceutical, textile, cement, food, printing and paper sectors. He has 20 years’ experience in environmental matters and regularly advises on the wide range of issues that arise during the various stages of administrative and contentious-administrative proceedings, such as applications for concessions and sewage permits, waste generation and management, air emissions, noise pollution and soil and groundwater contamination. He also takes part in due diligence processes.

Heidi López Castro

Heidi López is a partner in the International Arbitration and Litigation Department of Uría Menéndez. She joined the firm in 2007 and from March to September 2012 she was seconded to the Paris office of Bredin Prat. Heidi has participated in more than seventy international commercial and investment arbitration proceedings with seats in multiple jurisdictions, both ad hoc and under the rules of various international arbitration institutions such as the ICC, LCIA, ICSID and CAM. Heidi also acts as arbitrators in cases administered by national and international arbitration courts. She handles cases under the legislation of several countries, of both civil law and common law, in Spanish, English and French. Heidi has notable experience in complex dispute across a number of sectors, with particular focus in energy, construction and corporate disputes. Heidi is also a pro bono counsel for an international cooperation foundation.

duardo Geli joined Uría Menendez in 1988 and has been a partner of the firm since 1998. In 2000 he was appointed head partner of the firm’s New York office and he returned to Barcelona to coordinate the Corporate Practice Area. His practice is focused on M&A, banking and finance, securities and corporate law, and has included advising: \ton mergers and acquisitions (of both private and listed corporations) and joint ventures; \tprivate equity funds, sellers and management in private equity transactions; \tlisted and non-listed companies on corporate governance matters; \ton regulatory aspects of acquisitions in regulated sectors; \tshareholding and financial restructurings, including pre-insolvency; \tcompanies and banks on structured finance transactions, project finance, refinancing and issuers of debt and hybrid instruments; and \tcontractors and financial institutions on significant bids for public works projects.

Leticia Lopez-Lapuente

Leticia López-Lapuente joined Uría Menéndez in 2004 and she is partner of the firm since 2019. She heads the data protection and e-commerce area of the firm. She has more than 15 years of experience advising companies in the technology sector and also to financial and industrial companies in matters specifically related to technology and protection of personal data. She provides advice on commercial and regulatory aspects, including the preparation and negotiation of contracts (such as outsourcing, cloud computing or digitalization), advice on the protection of personal data and privacy including defense in proceedings before the Spanish Data Protection Agency, cybersecurity, mergers and acquisitions with technological components, consumer law and e-commerce, use of biometric technologies, artificial intelligence, big data, public procurement law, representation before Public Administrations, etc.
