Germany > Antitrust Tier 1

Gleiss Lutz' broad practice covers the entire spectrum of antitrust law with 'excellent expertise' and is at the forefront of major developments in the antitrust sphere. Within the renowned practice, the new focus area digital issues stands out in particular: here, the team advises digital economy players and also conducts first antitrust proceedings in accordance with section 19a GWB. The representation of clients in complex international abuse proceedings as well as in fine proceedings continues to be an important part of the practice, but the team also acts in sometimes groundbreaking antitrust compensation proceedings, for instance in connection with the so-called truck cartel. Merger control is another mainstay, with international applications often being carried out in cooperation with a global firm network. Munich-based practice head Petra Linsmeier has extensive experience in antitrust law and can also rely on a strong team: these include, among others, Ingo Brinker, who has special expertise in the insurance industry, Christian Steinle, who is well versed in cartel fines and cartel damage compensation proceedings, and the 'excellent antitrust lawyer with a lot of experience', Ulrich Denzel.
