Commercial disagreements are a normal part of doing business. A supplier may miss the deadline, business partners may have different ideas about what they owe each other, or the same contract may be read differently. While court proceedings are sometimes necessary, they are not always the first or most practical option.

Traditionally, judicial systems around the world relied on conventional court procedures across all types of courts, including civil courts, personal status courts, criminal courts, and specialized courts.

The DIFC Court has issued its first substantive guidance on how courts should exercise discretion when setting aside arbitral awards under Article 41 of the DIFC Arbitration Law. A UAE judgment may order another person or company to pay money, return property, vacate premises, hand over an asset, or perform a specific legal obligation. The decision confirms your legal right, but payment or compliance may still require a separate execution file.
