Caroline has a high profile practice and is particularly known for her work in Slavery and Human trafficking cases and those involving Serious Sexual Offences. She is a sought after senior junior for both the defence and prosecution. She is instructed in complex cases, including murder trials, as leading counsel against Queen’s Counsel.
Recent cases include:
Operation Dorking – Leading counsel in the successful prosecution of two brothers who trafficked scores of vulnerable individuals around the United Kingdom for work exploitation.
Operation Falorni – Successful prosecution of a Nigerian gynaecologist and his wife, who was a senior NHS nurse, for offences arising out of illegally bringing a 14-year-old child to the United Kingdom as their servant and keeping him in servitude for 24 years.
Operation Leaside – This is the high profile eleven defendant ‘Aylesbury Sex Ring’ trial. Caroline represented one of the four defendants who were acquitted. The case involved the grooming, sexual exploitation and rapes of two young girls by a group of Asian men in the Buckinghamshire market town over a number of years.
Operation Kinney – Leading counsel in the successful prosecution of a serial prostitute rapist who, over a period of two years, attacked and raped four prostitutes in the East London area.
Operation Leaside – Junior counsel for a teenage defendant in the Gumtree Murder case. The 18 year old was acquitted.
She has a strong reputation for her work with vulnerable witnesses and defendants. She has been described by those who work with her as a ‘hard working and persuasive jury advocate,’ who possesses ‘excellent client care skills’ and is a ‘team player.’
Caroline is a grade 4 prosecutor, she sits as a Tribunal Judge and she is Legal Chair of the Police Disciplinary Panel.
