Career
Sébastien Moret specialises in national and international litigation as well as white-collar crime matters. He represents both accused and injured persons in criminal proceedings. He also advises companies and individuals in regulatory proceedings as well as in compliance matters, in particular issues relating to money laundering and corruption. Another focus of his practice is advising and representing clients in national and international commercial disputes before state courts and arbitration tribunals.
He has several years of professional experience in the judiciary. He worked as law clerk for around two years in civil and criminal matters in courts of first instance as well as five and a half years in courts of second instance, where he dealt with debt collection, bankruptcy and administrative law in addition to civil and criminal law. He likewise held the position of deputy secretary for two years in the supervisory authority for the lawyer’s profession of the Canton of Schaffhausen.
Dr Sébastien Moret studied at the University of Zurich. In 2015, he completed his doctorate on a topic of civil proceedings alongside his work. He was admitted to the bar in 2016. Before joining CMS, he completed an LL.M specialising in international commercial law at King’s College London in 2018/2019.
