Career

Maria Carolina Uribe founded the firm. She is the co-head of the real estate and corporate departments and has more than 20 years of experience, both as in-house counsel and in the private practice.

She represents companies in a broad range of corporate and transactional matters, participating in the structuring, negotiation and execution of many projects. Some of her most prominent clients include Industrias Haceb S.A., Almacenes Flamingo S.A., Contex S.A., Arquitectura y Concreto S.A., Londoño Gómez S.A. and Fondo Inmobiliario Colombia.

She worked for more than 16 years in Grupo Exito, where her last position was as General Counsel.

She is also a registered arbitrator before the Medellín Chamber of Commerce.

Carolina has served as member of the board of directors of some of Colombia’s prominent organizations such as Grupo Sura S.A., Hospital Pablo Tobon Uribe and Colombo American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham chapter Antioquia). She also serves on the board of respected nonprofit organizations such as Corporacion Pueblo de los Niños and Corporacion Makaia.

Education

Carolina graduated as a lawyer from the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana and has a postgraduate degree in Business Law from the Universidad Externado de Colombia. She also pursued a LL.M. at Instituto de Empresa in Spain. She has studies in Geopolitics and Legal Written English in Georgetown University and in George Washington University, respectively.
