Career

Joon is a tax specialist. She is an admitted attorney, a Chartered Certified Accountant and a Fellow member of the UK global body of professional accountants, the ACCA. She assists clients with tax opinions, ruling applications, voluntary disclosure applications, South African Revenue Service investigations and audit queries, objections and appeals, alternative dispute resolution and tax litigation and penalty and interest remission applications. She also has experience in group restructures, due diligence investigations, structuring of offshore intermediary holding companies, employee share incentive schemes and mergers and acquisitions. She spent a term working for KPMG in their tax division and was also involved in preparing their submissions to Parliament on the Companies Act. Joon has advised entities listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, as well as unlisted companies and various clients in amongst others, financial services, mining, retail and pharmaceuticals.
