Position

Christian Schede is Managing Shareholder of Greenberg Traurig Germany and chairs the firm's German Real Estate Sector Group. He focuses on M&A transactions in real estate, infrastructure and related financings as well as project developments. Christian's experience covers all real estate asset classes and ranges from residential to office and retail, hotels, leisure, nursing homes and hospitals as well as logistics, industry and infrastructure. His practice includes advice on asset, facility and property management, joint ventures, and restructuring of property investments.

Christian has wide-ranging experience advising on complex transactions. He represents major national and international real estate companies and private equity funds, large institutional investors, financiers, and developers as well as asset, facility and property management firms.

Career

Prior to Greenberg Traurig, Christian used to be Managing Partner at Olswang Germany and was a partner in the Real Estate Group at Freshfields for seven years.

Handling the full remit of real estate law, Greenberg Traurig Germany is praised for its ‘deep understanding of the market’ and its ‘solution-oriented and earnest’ advice. In significant work, the team advised Oxford Properties and Madison International Reality on the acquisition of the Sony Center in Berlin for €1.1bn, and, in co-operation with its Amsterdam office, assisted Dream Global REIT with entering the Dutch market and the acquisition of Merin’s commercial real estate portfolio. ‘Outstanding lawyer and very good negotiator’ Florian Rösch advised several joint ventures on various real estate transactions and project developments. Peter Schorling is ‘an extremely talented lawyer’ and Claudia Hard is best known for her real estate finance expertise.
