Career

Patrick Pope focuses his practice on advising clients regarding development of energy infrastructure projects, negotiation of associated commercial contracts, procuring of necessary regulatory approvals and litigation of related contract disputes. He has been involved in the natural gas pipeline and liquefied natural gas (LNG) business for portions of four decades.

Prior to joining the firm, Patrick served as Vice President and General Counsel of Southern Natural Gas Company, with primary responsibility for infrastructure development and regulatory matters for over thirty years. Having served during this period as commercial and regulatory counsel for two of the eight operational LNG terminals in the United States, he is a frequent speaker at worldwide LNG conferences, with more than 30 appearances in the last decade on topics ranging from terminal development to gas interchangeability and contract risk management. Since joining the firm, he has become a member of the faculty at international conferences dealing with production sharing contracts and gas balancing arrangements sponsored by the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN).
