Work Department

Matthew is an associate in our tax group. He handles all areas of tax law. Matthew’s main areas of practice include VAT advisory, advising and negotiating on corporate transactions, tax litigation and HMRC investigations. Matthew previously worked as a litigator at HMRC. His recent experience includes advising an international bank on HMRC’s information powers and assisting with disclosure, providing tax structuring advice on a high value private equity backed acquisition and advising on the VAT consequences of key changes of UK law ahead of Brexit. Matthew also regularly advises educational and non-profit institutions on VAT and corporate tax structuring and has written on VAT recovery for Tax Journal.
