Position

Partner Tim Alvino serves as lead counsel for US and non-US clients in connection with domestic and cross-border mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and joint ventures. He also provides advice with respect to other corporate matters, including capital markets activities and corporate governance.Tim represents clients in a wide range of industry sectors, including avionics, energy, manufacturing, media, retail, staffing and software. He counsels strategic and financial parties involved in public and private transactions. Tim has extensive experience in the energy sector and provides broad-ranging corporate support in relation to energy-industry transactions.

The practice advised Motorola Solutions on its acquisition of Spillman Technologies, a company that provides public safety software to agencies throughout the US; acted for Steward Health Care System in its acquisition of IASIS Healthcare; and assisted Amazon with specific Texas corporate issues regarding its $13.7bn acquisition of Whole Foods. Miami-based Harris Siskind, who is highly regarded for advising clients on private equity transactions, M&A deals and general corporate matters, is the firm-wide corporate chair; and ‘strong negotiator’ Thomas Conaghan leads the Washington DC corporate practice, which is noted for deals in the alcohol beverage and renewable energy industries. The recommended New York practitioners include Thomas Sauermilch (a former chair of the firm’s global M&A practice whose transactional experience extends to over 30 countries); and Timothy Alvino, whose sector experience includes avionics, energy, manufacturing, media, retail, staffing and software, and who ‘always amazes for the level of service he is prepared to give his clients as a matter of course’.
