Career

Martín Pesce has specialized in data protection and leads the FERRERE new technologies and data protection team. He teaches Information Technology Law I and II at the Law School of Universidad de la República.

He advises local and international companies including Nike, Equifax, IBM, Scotiabank, Nielsen, Diageo, Nestlé and Microsoft, among others. He has been appointed by multinational corporations as Data Protection Officer (DPO) to represent them vis-à-vis Uruguay’s Personal Data Regulatory and Control Unit.

He participates frequently in academic events and as speaker in Uruguay and abroad. He is the author of numerous specialized articles for national and international publications and is a regular contributor to ItechLaw, DataGuidance and Bloomberg Law.

He is co-chair for Uruguay of the International Association of Privacy Professionals and Uruguayan representative to the Latin American Privacy Association. He has been appointed to the DataGuidance global panel of experts, and is the author of the Uruguayan chapter of the Global Privacy Book among other publications.
