Position

Lynne is Of Counsel in the Dispute Resolution team in Jersey.

She undertakes a wide range of civil and commercial and regulatory matters with particular emphasis on construction disputes, contentious trusts, banking litigation, property and professional negligence claims.

Lynne has significant experience representing high-profile clients in a range of contractual and commercial disputes, the team being the favoured advisor for many of Jersey’s high net worth individuals and families on their private, property, trust and family disputes.

Career

Lynne was sworn in as an Advocate of the Royal Court on 4 March 2021 and admitted to the Jersey Bar. Lynne was also presented with the Law of Contract award and the Testate and Intestate Succession award in recognition for achieving the highest mark in the 2019 and 2020 examinations respectively, both examinations taken as part of her studies to qualify as a Jersey Advocate.

She qualified as a Scottish solicitor in 2002, having obtained an LLB (Hons) Law Degree from the University of Glasgow and my Diploma in Legal Practice. Prior to joining Collas Crill, Lynne worked for leading UK law firms in both Glasgow and Edinburgh and is a member of the Law Society of Scotland.

Lynne was promoted to Of Counsel in 2022.

Education

Lynne joined the firm in September 2016 and qualified as a Scottish solicitor in 2002, having obtained an LLB (Hons) Law Degree from the University of Glasgow and her Diploma in Legal Practice. Prior to joining Collas Crill, Lynne worked for leading UK law firms in both Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Trust disputes make up the core of Collas Crill‘s litigation practice; the firm advises a raft of Jersey-based and international clients on long-running, multi-faceted disputes. The team is also well versed in commercial and insolvency disputes. Heading the team is Damian James, sought after for his expertise in contentious trust matters, where he frequently works alongside Dan Boxall. Nuno Santos-Costa represents financial institutions, governments and HNWIs in trust, contract and fraud cases, while Simon Hurry specialises in restructuring and insolvency litigation. Sam Williams assists clients with the enforcement of foreign judgements and arbitration decisions, in addition to trusts work. Lynne Calder, who was made of counsel in January 2022, handles civil and commercial regulatory matters.
