Position

Clinton advises on a wide range of British Virgin Islands corporate and commercial law, including, financings and investment structures, takeovers, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions and public and private equity transactions. Clinton also advises on BVI regulatory compliance and risk management.

Career

Before joining Carey Olsen, Clinton was with Maples and Calder in the BVI and Allen & Overy in London. He is a member of the BVI Bar Association and the English Law Society. Clinton has worked with many of the world’s leading lawyers, bankers, private equity firms and accountants on cross-border joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations and stock exchange listings and has been named as a ‘recognised expert’ for corporate and finance transactions in several legal directories, including PLC Which Lawyer? Yearbook, IFLR1000, Legal 500 and Chambers Global.

Clinton was admitted as an attorney in South Africa in 1996, as a solicitor in England and Wales in 1997 and as a solicitor of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court (British Virgin Islands) in 1999.

Education

Clinton graduated with a BA (History) from the University of Natal, before completing an LLB at Rhodes University in South Africa and an LLM (Corporate Law) at Kings College, University of London.
