Position

Susie is based in Aberdeen, and is well placed to advise on the financial and child issues arising from the breakdown of relationships and is regularly instructed in high value cases. She attends to the drafting of pre or post nuptial and pre or post cohabitation agreements as well as advising on all aspects of divorce and the dissolution of civil partnerships.

Susie has gained particular experience in cases involving the relocation of children and cases where there may be a choice of jurisdiction. She is an experienced negotiator and a trained Collaborative lawyer. Susie also appears in sheriff courts around Scotland and instructs counsel in the Court of Session for cases of particular complexity or high value.

With an experienced bench of family law specialists, the family law practice at Brodies LLP is well placed to handle a wide range of instructions, from complex and high-value divorces to child abduction cases and residence issues; with the arrival of Jacqueline Stroud from MacRoberts LLP in June 2022, the team also boosted its capabilities in financial provision and mediation work.
