Career

Robert is an Advocate and Counsel in the dispute resolution department.

Robert’s practice deals with all aspects of local and international commercial litigation, including trust related disputes, professional negligence related matters, contract and tort based claims in addition to contentious and non-contentious employment matters.

Robert has a keen interest in regulatory matters; he regularly advises companies and directors in relation to investigations brought by the Guernsey Financial Services Commission and other regulatory bodies.

Robert often works with law firms and corporates in foreign jurisdictions particularly in respect of cross border fraud claims and asset tracing matters and he is able to call upon a strong international support network if needed. Robert qualified as a solicitor of England and Wales (currently non-practising) in 2005 and has previously practiced in the London and Tokyo offices of an international law firm.

Robert moved to Guernsey in 2015, qualifying as a Guernsey Advocate in 2018. Robert has several charitable commitments away from the office and is a director of the Youth Commission for Guernsey and Alderney.

Robert Breckon handles trust and professional negligence cases, while Alison Antill, senior associate as of June 2022, handles trust matters and a range of commercial disputes. Sean Donaldson joined the firm from Norton Rose Fulbright‘s Sandton office in November 2022.
