Martin is known for his flexible thinking to resolve challenging situations for clients including developers, corporate occupiers, owners and investors.

Martin heads our real estate disputes team advising on disputes arising out of ownership, occupation, management and development of commercial property – including lease renewals/ termination, rights of way/covenants. His practice has a particular focus on telecommunications and infrastructure disputes; dilapidations and service charge; mass trespass and protest injunctions.

Shakespeare Martineau LLP continues to develop its roster of major clients across sectors including education, retail, energy and telecoms, and has experience in an array of property disputes in the High Court and County Court as well as arbitration and increasingly, before property tribunals. Practice head Martin Edwards advises clients on the full spectrum of property disputes, receiving repeat instructions from significant clients such as National Grid, among others. James Fownes is another key name in the practice, and focuses on commercial landlord and tenant disputes, as well as adverse possession, rectification and Land Registry matters. Justine Ball also adds strength to the team through her expertise advising landowners on the termination and renewal of telecoms leases. Associate Pia Eames plays an active role supporting the team.
