Types of work undertaken:Commercial: Gannons handles the spectrum of commercial work arising in business. Core areas are licences, assignments, software and technology agreements, collaboration agreements, TUPE, joint ventures, registration and protection of intellectual property. Company: Gannons enables clients to select the most appropriate business structure, manage recruitment, motivate key people and protect their assets. The department deals with investment agreements, shareholder agreements, director agreements and sale of businesses. Investment work includes seeking SEIS and EIS clearances from HMRC along with resolving problems where clearance has been denied.

Dispute resolution: the firm’s approach is to settle commercial disputes wherever possible, but to be prepared to litigate if necessary to achieve results. Gannons’ solicitors are equally effective in acting for defendants in resisting commercial litigation claims as they are in acting for claimants commencing commercial litigation, seeking injunctions or looking to resolve commercial disputes. Gannons offers a specialism in shareholder disputes, partnership disputes and claims relating to the infringement of intellectual property rights.

Employment: the firm offers both contentious and non-contentious employment law services. The work often requires a blend of employment law plus intellectual property, tax or share ownership-related angles. There is expertise in the enforcement of restrictive covenants.
