Katy McPhie joined Blacks Solicitors as a Senior Associate Solicitor in the Real Estate team in 2020. Katy specialises in planning and highways law.

Katy qualified in 2011 and has broad-ranging experience having worked in both private practice and local government.

Katy has advised landowners, developers, investors, housebuilders and public sector clients on many varied matters including judicial review, development in Green Belt, heritage issues, retail impact assessment, planning enforcement, appeals, environmental impact assessment, Neighbourhood and Local Plan processes, Development Consent Orders and the Community Infrastructure Levy. She has also advised on a diverse range of planning matters relating to acquisitions and refinancing.

Katy has drafted and negotiated various highways agreements and section 106 agreements, including agreements relating to residential developments providing on-site affordable housing, build to rent and co-living schemes, and large-scale retail, leisure and mixed-use developments.
