Career

Warren Foley is a partner in Gowling WLG’s Calgary office, practising in the area of corporate/commercial litigation with an emphasis on product liability, professional liability defence, shareholder disputes, oil and gas disputes, large property and construction claims, and directors’ and officers’ liability.

Warren has extensive energy-industry experience, litigating operator disputes, pipeline ruptures, facility allocation disputes and oil sands construction issues, and routinely advises clients in the upstream and midstream sectors of the oil and gas industry.

Throughout his legal career, Warren has acted for both Canadian and international companies in a variety of multi-million dollar disputes. In addition, he regularly provides advice to many of his commercial clients with respect to contract drafting and negotiation, corporate strategy and contract dispute.

Warren represents clients in Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan, and has appeared in the Alberta Court of Justice, the Alberta Court of King’s Bench and the Alberta Court of Appeal. He is also familiar with all aspects of dispute resolution, including judicial dispute resolution conferences, private mediations and arbitrations.
