Career

Brett Kagetsu is a partner in Gowling WLG’s Vancouver office and is the head of the Business Department of the Vancouver office. He previously served as former vice-chair of the firm’s Corporate Finance, M&A and Private Equity Practice Group. He has over 20 years’ experience in leading the successful completion of financings, stock exchange listings and merger transactions.

Brett assists his public company clients with all legal aspects of their businesses, including securities law and stock exchange policy compliance, as well as with the conduct of shareholder meetings. He has also provided strategic advice to dissident shareholders in connection with contested shareholder meetings.

Brett has been included in legal directories such as LexpertThe Legal 500The Best Lawyers in Canada and Who’s Who Legal: Mining, and is a regular presenter for the TSX Venture Exchange on corporate governance and listings related topics.
