Position

Mr. Ashish Teni is a Partner in the Firm’s Corporate & Insurance Practice, and has over 10 years’ experience in insurance law matters. He is working very closely on matters pertaining to insurance law, foreign investment and general corporate advisory.

 In the course of his professional career, Ashish has advised various Indian and overseas insurers, reinsurers, insurance brokers, corporate agents, third party administrators on bancassurance, group insurance arrangements, reinsurance arrangements, commission payment and distribution structures in India. He has also had an extensive experience in advising reinsurance companies on the reinsurance arrangements, establishing place of business in India through branch office, registration and operation requirements applicable to cross border reinsurers.

 On the life insurance front, Ashish has been extensively involved in drafting and vetting of policy wordings and ancillary documentations on behalf of various life insurance companies. He has also advised on distribution and marketing arrangements and interpretation of regulations, circulars and guidelines issued by the IRDAI.

 In the general insurance space, Ashish has advised various insurance companies and intermediaries on the distribution arrangements and regulatory issues.

Ashish has an extensive experience in advising reinsurance companies on the reinsurance arrangements, establishing place of business in India through branch office, registration and operation requirements applicable to cross border reinsurers.

He has recently advised clients such as Go Digit, IndiaFirst, Future Generali, Policybazaar, Tata AIA, PNB MetLife and SCOR Group.

Ashish has been consistently recognized as one of the leading ‘Next Generation Lawyers’ in the Insurance Practice Area for the year 2018- 2021, by the internationally acclaimed ‘Legal 500 Series’. He has also been recognized as a “Rising Star” in the Legal Media Group’s Rising Star for the last 2021

Prior to joining the Firm, Ashish has worked with the Compliance team of ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company Limited.
