Career

Lucy is a Partner based in our Birmingham office, in the Private Client team. She is a family law specialist and can assist you in all areas of family law including divorce, together with the related financial proceedings, Children Act proceedings, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, cohabitation and Trusts of Land Act proceedings. Lucy has over 13 years of experience in family law.

She is an experienced family lawyer and generally acts for clients of a high net worth. She often acts for clients with jurisdictional disputes and has represented clients where proceedings have been issued under Hague Convention Child Abduction, issued in the High Court.

One of her key areas of interest and expertise is in cohabitation disputes. She was instructed in the reported case of Southwell v Blackburn [2014] EWCA 1347 which was heralded by the press as a “landmark decision.”

Lucy’s Experience

Lucy has spent the majority of her career practicing in the Midlands, having achieved Partnership at her last firm, a top-tier Legal 100 law firm, and before that working for a small niche practice in Solihull dealing with high-value financial relief.

Meeting Your Needs

Lucy is known for taking a pragmatic approach and complies with the principles as set down by Resolution wherever possible. However, she fights her client’s corner hard to achieve the best possible outcome for them in the event that such an approach is required. She is constructive and prepared to take a commercial view, and continues to have in mind that cases need to be dealt with proportionately from a cost perspective.
