Career

Steven is the director of Steven J Webb Limited, a partner in the firm. He leads TSP’s Litigation department, a team of some 20 people, dealing with Personal Injury, Clinical Negligence, Civil and Commercial Dispute Resolution and Employment Law,  and heads up both the Personal Injury and Clinical negligence teams. Following qualification, Steve worked predominantly on cases involving Personal Injury, and is an accredited Member of the Law Society’s Personal Injury Panel and also an accredited Senior Litigator with the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL), but now also deals with cases covering all aspects of both Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence. In particular, he has worked on a number of high value cases involving brain injury and his case load includes several complicated clinical negligence matters.

Steve qualified as a solicitor in 1990. He is local to the Colchester area and attended the Colchester Royal Grammar School before going on to gain his Law degree at Leeds University. He studied for his professional exams at Nottingham Trent University and joined TSP as an articled clerk in 1988. He became a partner in the firm in 2001, and in 2006, when the structure of Thompson Smith and Puxon changed, he became a director of Steven J. Webb Ltd, a corporate partner in TSP.  Steve was the firm’s Managing Partner from Jan 2016- Dec 2018.

Steve is a member of the Law Society’s Personal Injury panel and an accredited Personal Injury specialist. He is accredited as an APIL (Association of Personal Injury Lawyers) Senior Litigator. All of the Personal Injury Lawyers in Steve’s team are APIL members.
