Career
Ms. Peshala Attygalle is primarily engaged in the banking and finance practice of the Firm and has handled various matters relating to the subject, individually as well as under supervision of Mr. Naomal Goonewardena, who heads the practice. Her experience extends from advising clients on the legal and regulatory framework of Banks and Non-Bank Financial Institutions as well as bilateral loans, loan syndications, export credit finance, trade finance and derivatives to both local and foreign clientele of the Firm. Ms. Attygalle is also extensively involved in advising clients on the legal framework governing foreign exchange as well as AML/CFT controls in Sri Lanka. She has also assisted in the contribution to several international navigators on the local regulatory framework governing marketing activities of various financial products in Sri Lanka.
Of late, Ms. Attygalle has expanded her expertise to the field of construction law and has assisted clients in negotiating contracts as well as advising on construction claims and disputes.
Ms. Attygalle was admitted as an Attorney-at- Law by the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka in 2012. She has a Master of Business Engineering (MBE) from the University of Stuttgart, Germany, where she specialized in International Construction: Law and Practice.
