F J & G De Saram continues to act for Orizon Renewable Energy on the first waste-to-energy project in Sri Lanka. The practice acted for an international finance organisation on its investment in two wind-power projects, and has also advised in relation to a number of hydropower projects. Nithya Partners is currently advising Aitken Spence plc in finalising the agreements relating to the development of the south container terminal under the Colombo South Port development project. It also advised Bartleet Mallory Stockbrokers and Bartleet TransCapital on the sale of a 50% shareholding in the former to Religare Enterprises. Chanaka De Silva is noted for his ‘expertise, experience and intelligence’.
DL & F De Saram’s projects practice is developing steadily. The firm assisted in setting up the joint venture for the Colombo South Port development project involving China Merchant Holdings.
