After joining Haldanes as a trainee solicitor in 2009, Weiken qualified in the firm’s Corporate & Commercial and Media & Entertainment Departments in 2011.

Weiken handles a wide range of commercial matters including acquisitions and joint ventures, share redemption, buy-back, and share option schemes. He regularly issues legal opinions on Hong Kong corporate and regulatory issues and assists in preparing financing documentation.

Weiken has deep sector-specific experience in the media and entertainment and fashion industries. Weiken regularly advises on matters pertaining to film, television, and music, including talent management, recording, publishing, and digital licensing agreements. He also advises on regulatory issues concerning Internet streaming, broadcast, and OTT services.

Weiken also advises clients on company secretarial matters.
