Career

Edd has particular expertise in the renewable energy sector advising on large scale solar and other renewable projects for both developers and landowners. As part of the team instructed to deal with in excess of 1,500 acres of proposed solar farms over the last 12 months alone, a particular highlight has been acting for Lark Energy on the largest solar farm in the UK, a 35MW scheme comprising 130,000 panels at Wymeswold in Leicestershire which was commissioned in March 2013. Edd has also recently been instructed to advise on the property aspects of a proposal to install four new AD/gasification plants across the UK with a combined capacity of in excess of32MW. A member of the firm’s minerals team, Edd spent six months in 2010-11 seconded to Lafarge Aggregates (now Lafarge Tarmac), one of the UK’s largest producers of construction materials. Here he developed a strong understanding of the commercial and operational requirements that drive property transactions and he continues to be instructed by Lafarge Tarmac, particularly in relation to its non-operational landholdings. The firm’s food team provides advice to clients throughout the whole food chain, from grower to logistics and distribution. Edd is the property department’s representative on the team and works closely with the other members to provide commercially focussed advice to clients in this key sector.
