Career

Mr Malik is the Senior Partner of the firm. He was called to the Bar from the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn and holds an MBA from the University of Oxford.

Prior to joining the firm, he was an equity partner and head of the Pakistan and Oman practice groups at a leading global law firm, Clyde & Co. In this capacity, he represented many of the world’s largest and most prominent companies in relation to contentious and non-contentious matters related to Pakistan and other countries in the region.

Between 2012-18, Mr Malik was one of the youngest partners at a leading international arbitration focused US law firm, Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP and was based between the firm’s Muscat and Dubai offices.  During this time, Mr Malik also advised various governments on public international law matters and conducted training sessions for public sector officials in countries such as Mozambique.

Mr Malik has also served as the Head of Legal (Middle East & West Asia) at Vale, one of the world’s largest mining and metals groups. In this capacity, he worked with the organization’s global and regional management and business development teams on legal matters across Middle East and Africa.

Earlier in his career, Mr Malik was the Executive Director of the Research Society of International Law (RSIL) Pakistan, the country’s main international law advisory and capacity building institution. In this role, he advised various Ministries and other stakeholders on many of the most important international law issues related to Pakistan.

Mr Malik has been a regular guest speaker at civil and military training institutes in Pakistan and has also been invited to speak at leading universities around the world including Georgetown University, King’s College London and American University Dubai.

Mr Malik is the Founder of Pakistan’s leading multi-dimensional law and justice initiative, Courting the Law, and is also the Patron of various other legal and youth empowerment initiatives such as Qanoondan, Insaaf Camp and Youth General Assembly Pakistan.

Mr Malik has been consistently ranked by leading legal directors for his work related to Pakistan, Oman and UAE.
