Position

Christopher is a children law expert and practises exclusively within that field. He has extensive experience in complex public law cases, including those involving child death, non-accidental head injury, drowning, honour-based violence, fabricated and induced illness, sexual abuse and serious physical abuse including fractures, bruising and burns. He regularly conducts lengthy fact-finding hearings in the High Court and he also undertakes matters in the Court of Appeal. Christopher is an approved pupil supervisor and has previously been shortlisted for the “Birmingham Barrister of the Year” award. He is joint head of the St Philips Children Law Group and is a regular provider of seminar based legal training.

Career

Christopher was educated in Belfast before moving to Scotland in 1998 to undertake his law degree. Having completed his Bar exams at Nottingham Law School in 2003, he was called to the Bar later the same year. He joined St Philips Chambers in 2004 and has remained there ever since. In 2018 he was appointed as a Recorder, deployed to sit in Family on the Northern Circuit.
