Position

John Lane is a partner in the Corporate department of Linklaters in London and is a leading practitioner in equity capital markets, having worked in the practice area at Linklaters in London for over 20 years. He is Global co-head of Linklaters’ equities practice and has been extensively involved in recent industry discussion on equity capital markets practice. He acts for both issuers and underwriters on equities transactions and has experience also of private and public M&A. His experience includes acting on: IPOs including Saga, Cambian, Card Factory, Brit Insurance, Gulf Marine Services, Stock Spirits, Al Noor Hospitals Group plc, Royal Mail, Direct Line, Southern Cross, Vallares, DP World, Vallar, New World Resources, Perform, Promethean, Gartmore, Hansen Transmission, Sports Direct, Telecity, PHS, Gondola Holdings and 888 Holdings; secondary issues including Johnston Press, RSA, Thomas Cook, Resolution, Lloyds, HSBC, Xstrata, Premier Foods, SEGRO, Informa and Centrica ;mergers and acquisitions, including advising on the bid for Clapham House by Nando and the acquisition by Cinven of Gondola Holdings.
