Position

Jennifer is a partner in the family law team and is based in the Dundee office. She is accredited as a specialist in Family Law and Family Mediation by the Law Society of Scotland and is also a fully trained collaborative lawyer. Jennifer has a wide range of experience which includes providing advice and representation for divorce settlements, separation agreements, cohabitation cases and disputes involving children.

Jennifer is chair of the Family Law Association, the professional organisation for family lawyers in Scotland.

She is also currently a member of the Advisory Group for the Scottish Law Commission Family Law Reform Project. Jennifer is a member of the Law Society of Scotland Civil Justice Committee and sits on the mediation specialist accreditation panel.

Career

After qualifying Jennifer spent her early career working in Glasgow and Lanarkshire. From 2006 to 2010 she was a partner in Smail & Ewart solicitors, Lanark. Due to family circumstances she relocated to Fife in 2010 and joined Blackadders, Dundee as an associate in the family team. She became a partner in Blackadders in 2012.
