Career

Huw is a Partner in our Adverting and Marketing Group. He joined the firm in August 2017 from a top international law firm.

Huw has extensive UK and international experience advising clients on the full spectrum of general commercial related matters including all elements of sales and business development, regulatory investigations, commercial contracts, intellectual property, international distribution, digital, media buying and planning, talent and content acquisition, and sponsorship. He acts for global FMCG brands, national and international platforms, developers, advertising and creative agencies, industry associations, retailers, charities and start-ups in a range of industries.

He has undertaken secondments to key clients including McDonalds, Sara Lee, Heinz (covering the role of European General Counsel for 7 months). On each secondment, he undertook a mix of sales and acquisitions, digital, advertising, IP and general commercial work, assisting various internal departments within those businesses, including sales, business development, marketing, legal, HR and strategy.

Huw also heads up the firm’s Inclusion Network and is very interested in diversity and inclusion. He is a founding and current board member of PrideAM, the LGBT network for professionals in the advertising industry, and a founding and current committee member of the LGBT Lawyers Division of the Law Society of England and Wales. Outside of work, he is an Ambassador for Workplace Equality charity, Stonewall, a Member of the Purple Circle of the Albert Kenedy Trust, and the Strategic Advisor for myGwork (the leading online recruitment and networking hub for LGBT professionals and organisations). He is also a trustee for international anti-bullying charity Ditch The Label.

Lee & Thompson LLP advises a diverse client roster, notably including McDonald’s and Social Chain, on advertising campaigns and sponsorship agreements, in addition to negotiations with social media brands. Huw Morris and Dominic Bray jointly lead the team. Morris dispenses advice on a variety of commercial issues, including international distribution, media buying and planning, and content acquisition; whilst Bray heads the dispute resolution practice, frequently acting for advertisers and agencies in matters concerning regulatory compliance and clearance. Sam Goodman primarily represents talent in sponsorship deals and arrangements with agencies.
