Career

Murat Aygün has an experience of more than 20 years in the real estate law, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and in the project financing. He provides legal advice to both local and international companies acting in numerous large-scale and high-profile real estate and M&A deals. He guides his clients not only with his legal knowledge but also with a clever understanding of the economic and business sides of the transactions and presenting the full picture to his clients. He is also appreciated by the clients for his talent to handle even the most complex technical matters without missing the commercial essence of it, as well as his exceptional attribute in bringing options to resolve issues and achieving results. He has been ranked as one of the leading individuals in the field of real estate and M&A by various directories.

Murat Aygün has been representing KAT, a subsidiary of Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company, in its 2.7 billion investment in the Sea Pearl Project, which is developed on a seafront land of 127,600 sqm. His consultancy services included the purchase of the relevant land, negotiation of the construction agreements, and handling of the legal aspects of the financing of the project. He has further been working in Süleymaniye Renewal Project, which is an incredibly important urban transformation project being conducted on a land 102.000 sqm land located in the historical peninsula of Istanbul, which is listed as one of the world’s heritages by UNESCO. The project is an ongoing project comprised of residential and commercial buildings and re-development of archaeological and heritage sites.

Murat Aygün has also been involved in countless M&A transactions during his practice. Another remarkable achievement of him is, in 2020, he represented the Founder/CEO of Peak during the acquisition of 100% of the shares of Peak by Zynga Inc. for an amount of USD 1.8 billion. By this acquisition, Peak has become the first “unicorn” of Turkey in the technology sector.
