Career

With over 24 years of extensive practice in international and local arbitration and litigation as a party representative, arbitrator, expert, and mediator, Hayk had been a member of the ICC International Court of Arbitration, first-ever representing Armenia. For his notable achievements in practice and academic work, Hayk had been elected by the Armenian Parliament as member of Supreme Judicial Council, the highest autonomous state position in Judiciary.

Having contributed to the Nation’s Judiciary through developing e-justice sector, international relations and introduction of best international practice in judicial management, Hayk is back to private practice and keeps shaping Armenian legal world via strengthening ADR, managing strategic litigations and reforming domains of law influencing economy, like bankruptcy law with a particular emphasis on financial recovery.

HAP LLC has established expertise in dispute resolution, and the team has a solid track record in appearing in cases before the Court of Cassation in Armenia. The group’s workload includes contentious insolvency matters, bankruptcy litigation and investor disputes. Hayk Hovhannisyan, who leads the firm, has over 25 years of experience in handling litigation and arbitration, and is well known for being a former member of the ICC International Court of Arbitration. On the non-contentious side, the team is very experienced in advising clients on business operations in Armenia, including setting up new entities in the jurisdiction. Other key practitioners include bankruptcy and labour law expert Gagik Grigoryan and Tachat Voskanyan. Harutyun Hovhannisyan and Anna Margaryan left the firm in 2023.
