Position

Merete Furesund’s main areas of work are employment law, pension law, litigation and dispute resolution. Furesund has considerable experience in prosecuting cases before the ordinary courts, the Labour Court, the Supreme Court in Norway and the EFTA Court in Luxembourg. Furesund advises top management in all employment law issues. She has a particular interest in and extensive experience with issues regarding working hours, workforce reductions, reorganizations, business transfers and EU/EEA employment law. She also has extensive experience in collective labor law such as drafting and interpretation of collective agreements, implementation of collective bargaining and collective issues arising from corporate restructurings, mergers and acquisitions. Merete Furesund is a co-author at arbeidsrett.no, which is a digital commentary edition to the Working Environment Act. She is also a co-author of the Norwegian chapter in the Workforce Restructuring in Europe, Bloomsbury 2015.
