Career

Having been educated in Estonia, Germany and Austria in international tax law, Kärt Anna Maire Kelder has been advising clients on tax matters since 2004. As our firm’s “of counsel”, she has had the privilege of advising on the most exciting international and cross-border tax issues, including working on structures involving Asian, European and Latin-American countries. Continuous learning and understanding global trends in taxation is a key to efficient and successful advising.

International background. Kärt Anna Maire Kelder has worked in different jurisdictions and lived in several countries, which enables her to understand tax systems and business specifics on a national and global level alike.

Focus on direct taxation. Challenging cross-border cases involve advising a leading online service provider in determining the place of taxation for development functions and managers on payroll, negotiating and settling novel tax issues with the authorities, and bringing digital economy companies into accordance with existing tax systems and treaties to avoid double taxation.

Outspoken debater. Tax issues need candid debate, so she has been a regular speaker on the topic at events and in the professional media. This includes writing articles on local and international tax law for many renowned international publications and surveys.
