Career

Carlos is partner in the areas of Corporate/M&A, Labour Law, Control and Prevention of Money Laundering, E-Commerce, and Real Estate and Construction at ECIJA El Salvador.

Most of his professional practice has been performed in the private sector, advising Salvadoran and foreign companies in the conduct of their operations in Central American, either through the establishment of their operations locally or their expansion and regionalization.

He has experience participating in procurement processes of banks, construction companies, and companies within the sectors of energy distribution, marketing, security, and telecommunications.

He has participated in the management of, private and public, infrastructure construction projects, advising several of the most important construction companies in El Salvador and Latin America.
Due to his involvement with economic sectors whose main asset is the management of large amounts of human resources, he has extensive experience in the labour law, negotiation of collective agreements and management of union crises in El Salvador.

Carlos is a university professor on the subjects of e-commerce law, electronic signature and international tax planning.

Education

He obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M) from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, as well as a JD from the Universidad José Matías Delgado. He has also participated in courses and training given by the Attorney General of the Republic of El Salvador in conjunction with the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) on issues related to the fight against Money Laundering and Assets.
