Lionel Bonifazzi is a Tax Partner and heads the Tax Practice Group of KLEYR GRASSO. He has extensive knowledge of international corporate tax matters and is regularly involved in drafting tax opinions, reviewing financial statements and tax returns or representing taxpayers in administrative and judicial proceedings. Lionel assists local and international asset managers and entrepreneurs respectively engaged in the investment fund industry (from co-investment structures to regulated funds) and in cross-border restructurings or M&A transactions.
Prior to joining KLEYR GRASSO, Lionel was a Tax Partner for 5 years in a leading Luxembourg law firm and before that, he worked for 10 years as corporate and tax lawyer. He has been admitted to the Luxembourg Bar since 2006.
In their 2022’s editions, LEGAL500 and Leaders League recognized him as a “highly recommended lawyer” for his expertise in tax and corporate tax law.
Lionel was a regular author of legal and tax articles and contributed in the “Guide des comptes annuels pour le Luxembourg” (Ed. Wolters Kluwer) from January 2008 to January 2016. He often intervenes as a speaker at conferences organised by the Institut Luxembourgeois des Administrateurs (ILA). Lionel holds a University’s degree in Criminal sciences (DEA) from the University of Nancy (France) and a Master’s degree in Corporate Law from the University of Strasbourg (France).
