Career

Dirk started his career in 1987 as notary’s clerk. In 1993 he joined Ernst & Young’s legal department specializing in corporate law. In 1999 he was admitted to the bar and became senior lawyer with Peeters Advocaten (Ernst & Young’s law firm at the time). In 2003, he co-founded QUESTA Law. In a professional career spanning thirty years Dirk specialized in ICT law and corporate law. He combines the following specializations in ICT law: legal support of ICT projects, drafting and reviewing ICT contracts, negotiating ICT contracts, general advise on ICT law, GDPR, e-commerce and IP. He has a sound understanding of corporate law. In this field he combines the following specializations: company law, commercial law and contract law. Dirk’s clients range from large Belgian SMEs to multinationals. He advises his clients on their regulatory challenges of their business processes.

Dirk rejoined EY Law in November 2019 and is based in the Antwerp office. Prior to rejoining EY Law, he was a founding partner of QUESTA Law a SME law firm. In this capacity he led the QUESTA business law team. Dirk is a trusted advisor for many organizations and is highly regarded by clients for his strategical insight, his hands-on approach, technical knowledge and negotiating skills.

Education

Dirk graduated as a licentiate in Law from the University of Antwerp in 1992 and at the same time gained a Masters in Corporate Taxation from the Antwerp University Management School.
