Career

Daniela Bugeja is an Associate at Mamo TCV Advocates. She graduated Doctor of Laws from the University of Malta in 2003 after submitting a doctoral thesis entitled ‘The Protection of Young Workers under the Maltese, European and International Legal Regimes – A Comparative Analysis. She went on to obtain a Diploma in Marriage Cases, Jurisprudence and Procedure.

Daniela was called to the Bar in May 2004 and was an associate with Dr. Leslie Cuschieri & Associates from June 2004 to December 2007 as well as an in-house lawyer with Dionica R &D from May 2004 to December 2005; Daniela then moved on to set up a law firm with a fellow lawyer, under the name Buttigieg & Mangion Advocates and was a Partner from January 2008 to August 2016; Between January 2007 to December 2010 Daniela was lawyer to the Kummissjoni Nazzjonali Persuni b’ Diżabilita’; She also was appointed Judicial Assistant on a part-time basis in 2008, position she holds to-date; an Associate with Gonzi & Associate Advocates from November 2017 to June 2022; In April 2023 Daniela joined Mamo TCV as Of Counsel and in July 2023 she became an Associate.

Daniela forms part of the litigation practice of the firm. Daniela’s area of specialization is Civil and Criminal Litigation with particular emphasis on Civil Litigation focusing on Tort and Quasi Tort, Property Law and extra-judicial matters namely drafting of private agreements and lease contracts, Debt Collecting, the Law on Sale, Contract Law, and Obligations in general. In the area of Criminal Litigation, Daniela has a wide experience since previously she handled a variety of cases revolving around matters affecting Public Trust, namely fraud and forgery, Crimes against the person and in particular slight and grievous bodily harm, Crimes against Property and Public Safety particularly Simple and Aggravated Theft as well as a considerable number of Drug cases invoking Drugs Laws and particularly Drug Trafficking and cases on Money Laundering.

She is a member of the Chamber of Advocates.
