Jones Day‘s real estate department regularly advises clients on acquisitions and dispositions, as well as borrower and lender financings, joint ventures, and fund services alongside construction and development matters. The team is engaged by a range of clients, from developers and investors to real estate funds and owner-operators, handling both single-asset and portfolio transactions relating to healthcare, hotel, industrial, multifamily, office, and retail projects. The team is led by Brian Sedlak, based in Chicago, who has a particular focus on capital-intensive transactions with real estate as the underlying asset and is well-respected in the higher education area, handling a large number of privatization matters for universities. Also in the Chicago office are Kyle Baltes and Michael Austin, both with experience in all aspects of commercial real estate transactions, and Anna Dwyer, who is experienced in working with mixed-use, retail, office, and multifamily real estate assets.
